Artistic Celebration

Youth also work towards a theatrical production, which is a creative showcase for demonstrating and expressing their artistic talents. The whole community is involved in this annual event.

We use theatre to draw on the experiences of participants to develop our annual theatrical presentation. By using artistic expression, we look at the root causes that are most often unspoken about that youth face. Once they become engaged, dialogue is used to create awareness and inspires participants to ignite solution- based ideas to overcome some of their own challenges.

Youth participants begin to develop an enhanced awareness about the impact of history, themselves and the world around them.

Through this awakening experience, young people begin to tap into their unlimited potential by realizing their strengths, gifts and aspirations. They also embrace the opportunity to share, uplift and spread awareness within their communities using their voices, actions and movements.

Stress-N (2008)

Our youth today are faced with so many pressures, worry, anxiety, and doubt,
and we wonder why they be “Stress-N”;
teen sex, cultural assimilation, gender role definitions, financial and academic pressures from family members, overcoming childhood abuse, and the dead beat baby daddy syndrome are just some of the stresses youth experience on the regular.
